Assalam AlaikomI am working as a manager for an Islamic organisation in London and I’ve received this question: “I am 85 years old and I have 3 sons and 1 daughter. I own two houses evaluated to £.500.000 each, and cash amount of £.500.000. I want to donate the two houses to an Islamic charity and leave the cash money for my children. Can I do that? If no, what the limitation I can spend of my wealth for charity?” What is the Fatwa Jazakom Allah Khayran?

What is the Islamic view regarding the wife giving charity from her husband’s wealth with or without his knowledge?

Can i get rid of bank interest through charities such as Oxfam? Regarding bank interest, You state that this money can be donated to charities (Poor) or for public projects. I for example get rid of my money through charities such as Oxfam. My intention is that this is Interest and unlawful for me, i always get a monthly statement of my bank balance and then get rid of the interest. Is this ok for me. Some say to me i am not allowed to donate this to the poor or muslim charities since its unlawful and must be used for road maintenance etc. I cant find any organisation in the uk carrying out public projects so i chose Oxfam to get rid of this. Is this ok for me to do. I have put the effort to prevent interest coming into this account and it has so far failed, I will inshallah move to a islamic bank account. In the meantime is what i am doing accepted in islam, especially that many of us face many hardships living in a non muslim country.

Can we give sadaqa to non-muslims? There are so many poor non-muslim helpers at my work place. Can I give sadaqa to them and still get the benefit of sadaqa

Salamualaikum, I just wanted to know, is it halal to donate sadaqah jarriyah on someone else's behalf because you love them and if so, what is the reward you get for doing that?

Is it better for a person to give charity when he is alive, or can he write in his will that it should be given after he dies?

Dear scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Is it allowed to donate sadaqah (charity) to non-Muslims in dire need who are fighting for life because of illness? Jazakum Allah khayran.

There are some charities that offer social or relief programs for Muslims in need in Canada or overseas. However, the recipient does not receive 100% of the donation, as part of it goes to finance some administrative costs of the charity such as transportation and other costs incurred to manage the relief project. Also, the recipient receives the donation in terms of shelter, food and medicine instead of cash money (so he doesn't have the flexibility to use the money as he wishes). Is it permissible to give Zakah to such charities? Jazakum Allah khayran.

It is my understanding that a portion of the taxes thus collected by the government goes to the poor and those who work to collect them.
