As for Surat Al-Israa’, chapter no. 17 in the Qur’an, it starts with reference to the well-established journey of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) from the Sacred Mosque in Makkah to the Aqsa Mosque in Palestine. This miracle is well-established in both the Qur’an and the Sunnah. The Surah of Al-Israa’ speaks about the miracle of Al-Israa’ (the Prophet’s night journey to Al-Aqsa Mosque. This Surah speaks about Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and the Israelite’s mischief in the land surrounding it. It also tells about future clashes between the Israelites and Allah’s true servants. Reflect, dear brother, the name of the Surah is Al-Israa’, which refers to the night journey. The first verse speaks about the Aqsa Mosque and the Prophet’s journey to it. Verse no. 7 speaks again about Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and wa`d Al-Akhirah (second promise), and again verse no. 104 speaks about wa`d Al-Akhirah. Then, the whole Surah is coherent, and it is untrue that the first verse seems not related to the topics of the Surah. For more details, we recommended to refer to the reliable books of Tasfir on this Surah.
