As a grown person parents cannot force their son to marry against his will. This is the basic principle. But, on the other hand, the son needs to think about their proposal and their point of view. Perhaps their choice is better for him and he does not know. Hence, he should seek Allah’s guidance and make istikharah. Then he may find in himself the desire to marry a girl to please his parents. Even if he still does not like to marry her, he has to be kind and polite when talking to his parents about the issue. He may also seek the help of some of his relatives or some local scholars to talk to his father and to convince him not to destroy his life and create an unhappy family.
