Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, A Senior Lecturer and an Islamic Scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states the following: “While using beauty aids, we must avoid that which is clearly haram or forbidden; since alcohol is forbidden, muslim women is best advised to avoid it, even though the alcohol content in them may be negligible. They should look for alternatives free of alcohol.
I must, however, point out that there are some scholars who may consider it permissible, if the alcohol content is negligible, and it has lost its original trait of intoxication.
Still I must say that it is still preferable for us to leave that which is doubtful in favor of that which is not doubtful. May Allah make us sufficient in what He has made lawful for us so that we have no need to turn to that which He has declared as unlawful for us-aameen.”
