Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, a senior lecturer and Islamic scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada , states: “If the potential spouse is suffering from the same condition then there is no objection; otherwise, it amounts to courting danger, which as Muslims we are not allowed.
We are allowed to find out the status of people in regards to their health, prior to marriage, if we have any genuine reason to suspect them.”
