Sheikh Ahmad Kutty, A Senior Lecturer and an Islamic Scholar at the Islamic Institute of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, states the following: “Islam teaches us to abide by the laws of the land; for at no time, Islam prefers anarchy and lawlessness. And if hypothetically we’re residing in a land where they don’t have Shari’ah courts in this country we are to govern ourselves by the existing laws as best as we can.
