The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “A woman is not to stop offering Prayer because of labor pain. She stops Prayer and fasting on the onset of postpartum bleeding that is accompanying delivery or giving birth. Any blood coming out before delivery does not prevent the woman from performing Prayer. It requires her to apply a sanitary towel and to make wudu’ for every Prayer if the blood is coming out constantly.
