As-salamu `alaykum.has it been written anywhere or stated in Shari`ah that having children one after another is not right as the mother doesn't get "rest"? Jazakum Allahu khayran.
Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. I'm a new resident here. I have a 3-month-old baby who is having certain health problems since birth and I'm facing many difficulties in taking care of her. I have no family member here to help me. Yesterday I learned that I'm pregnant again and it is the start of the second month. Under these circumstances, can I have an abortion because it will be very difficult for me to take care of my newborn during pregnancy and even after delivery, I can't take care of both an infant and an 11-month-old baby. Please answer me according to Shari`ah. Jazakum Allah khayran.
As-Salamu `Alaykum! What is the Islamic ruling for woman who gets pregnant quite often? Can she have intervals between births and if so, how long should she wait? Jazakum Allah khayran.
Dear Sheikh, as-Salamu `alaykum! If a Muslim mother has a six-month-old baby and is breast-feeding him, can she take precautions against another pregnancy at least for three years, to preserve her health and that of the baby? What are the steps that are allowed in Islam for taking precautions against pregnancy and what are the steps prohibited in Islam? Is Intra-uterine Device (IUD) allowed in Islam? This device, as well as other contraceptives, are reversible and can be left in place for several years (for example, copper devices - left for 2-5 years). What does Islam say about using contraceptive pills? What should be the husband's role in accepting the steps provided by his wife if they are allowed in Islam? Should he encourage her for taking precautions?
My wife is pregnant. We are Indians and a lot of advice is given by the elders on how to take care of one’s wife during this crucial period. One piece of advice concerns the eclipses (lunar, solar). I was advised by somebody that during pregnancy the woman should not venture out in the open nor should she do household work. Is there any Islamic ruling supporting this or is it just another superstition? May Allah reward you for your good work.
I would like to know the Islamic legal ruling as well as the different opinions regarding marrying a woman whom one impregnated through adultery?
Respected scholar of Islam, as-salamu `alaykum. Is it permissible for an old man/woman not to fast in Ramadan? Also, what is the ruling regarding the pregnant woman and suckling mother?
Dear Scholar,Assalamu Alaikum. First of all I would like to thank you for the great advice and motivation you give toall muslims and non-muslims around the world. I have been married for almost two years now and we feel it is time for my husband and I to try for a baby. I was wondering whether there is any literature or sayings (hadith) from the prophet (peace be uponhim) about trying to conceive during the month of Ramadan. Would there be any additional blessings because of the holiness of the month, or is it discouraged? Also would there be a health risk to the baby in fasting during the very first days of pregnancy (if Allah blesses us?) since it would not be possible to know whether pregnancy has occurred untilaround two weeks after conception. Jazakum Allahu Khairan
Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. My wife is pregnant, praise be to Allah. Can she pray sitting down until she gives birth, or only if she feels dizzy or pain or morning sickness? Please answer me back as soon as possible. Jazakum Allah khayran.
What is the Islamic ruling in carrying out prenatal diagnosis to avoid hereditary diseases that may lead to a serious disability in the child? Is it allowed in this case to terminate the pregnancy?
As-Salamu `Alaykum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh. I would like to ask you about the Islam's stance on the possibility of male pregnancy through scientific process. I can't find any Islamic comment regarding this matter. So, your answer on this issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you!
Dear Sheikh, As-Salamu `alaykum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh. What are the Islamic rulings pertaining to the funeral of the stillborn?
As-Salamu `alaykum. My wife is pregnant. Doctors say that the baby, (she is six months gestation), will be disabled. Is it Halal for my wife to abort this baby now to avoid suffering? Jazakum Allah khayran.
