Dr. Marawan Shahin, Professor of Hadith and its Sciences, Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology), Al-Azhar Univ. states: “The restrictions or limits set by Shari`ah on getting a massage are the same during Ramadan or after Ramadan. They are as follows:
1. Massage should be done by one of the same sex.
2. There should no fear of lustful excitement or seduction.
3. It should not involve the display of `awrah (parts of the body that should be covered in front of another person).
4. It should not cause a person to delay an obligatory act of worship such as Prayer on time or something necessary.
If it is void of all of the above, then there is nothing wrong in getting it in Ramadan or after Ramadan.”
