Sheikh `Abd Al-Khaliq Hasan Ash-Sharif said that “Two sessions of breastfeeding do not have any effect, rather it must be five sessions of breastfeeding that occur before the child is weaned and before he reaches the age of two.” This opinion is based on the opinion of Lady `A’ishah and Imam Ash-Shafi`i and his companions as well as other scholars such as Sheikh Ibn `Uthaymeen. So, the considered number of breastfeeding sessions which makes a person a mahram through breastfeeding is five full sessions of breastfeeding which occur as mentioned above before the child is weaned and before he reaches the age of two years.
