Sheikh Muhammad Nur Abdullah, President of the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) and member of the Fiqh Council of North America, states: “For external use of such lotions, shampoo, soap, etc. scholars have allowed the use of ethanol alcohol. So, I don’t see any problem in using a skin care product as such and even though they contain alcohol, nothing of it is used for internal use.”
