Chemical additives or food colorings which are added to food do not have an apparent rule regarding their prohibition. The basic ruling is permissibility, and It is wrong for us to go to the degree of prohibition for any kind of these additives except if it is based upon clear fatwa from reliable and known source, so that Allah, subhanaHu wata’ala (SWT) doesn’t burden us with something besides it. Whoever is in doubt over these additives then there is no harm in leaving them out of caution, and whoever leaves it, Allah will replace it for him with something better. The people may not take a formal ruling on its prohibition, or its prevention only with an Islamic ruling from a reliable and known source.
