Does Fiqh of Minorities Justify Un-Islamic Stances?
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. My question is related to the social and political pressures that Muslim organizations and councils in the West may find themselves under in the post-9/11 world. Under those pressures and according to fiqh of minorities, are Muslims licensed to make statements that do not really reflect the Islamic point of view? (For example, about a year ago, a Canadian Islamic organization made a statement that did not directly condemn homosexuality in Canada.) Jazakum Allahu khayran.
