steal

Assalamu Alaykum I heard that if you commit a sin against someone, you have to repent and make it up to that person. My question is, what if you stole from someone, but you don't know who that person was(i.e. you took someones wallet from his pocket), and he is a non-mulsim? Jazzaka Allahu Khairassala mu Alaykum

are thes act are considered as stealing? and if repenting is sufficient?I used to ask money to my parent for studies but in fact I used it in other permitted things.in my country it's commun to copy CDs of programms for personnel use I do too and I can't remember all the cases to determine if it's permitted or not (to watch DVDs illegally copied also).thank you.

Dear scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. A man stole a bottle of alcohol from a non-Muslim vendor. The question is, should the thief be required to return it or to refund its price, following the Islamic princip le of repaying what is due to their proper owners? Jazakum Allah khayran.
