How to Purify Oneself from the Sin of Slandering Others
Assalamu’alaikum. I said many bad things about people either before them or behind their backs. Sometimes I did slander them in order to get attention from people but the slander wasn’t widespread. I really want to purify myself from these sins. It breaks my heart to apologize to every single person that I have sinned to. Is it enough just to make good deeds to them, in hope that they’ll forgive me in the hereafter? If I tell lies, do I have to say the truth, even if the truth is no more meaningful? Thank you.
