Requisites of Prayer

As-Salamu `alaykum. What is the intention a person is supposed to have while praying behind an Imam, and what intention should an Imam have while leading the salah (ritual Prayer)?

As-salamu `alaykum. Is a person who has a mental illness (manic depression) obliged to perform the five daily Prayers regularly or is the obligation relaxed in his case because of mental health factors?

Dear scholars, As-Salaam `Alaykum. My question is on raising index finger while sitting for Tashahhud at prayer. Some people tap their index finger continuously, while some people raise their finger and quickly put it down again. Please explain the correct method of raising the index finger. Is there a Sahih Hadith about 'tapping' the index finger continuously as if one is pelting Satan? Jazakum Allah khayran.

What is the detailed explanation for moving the forefinger during the Tashahhud, and is there a hadith about that?

Respected scholars, as-salamu`alaykum. My question is regarding nafl(supererogatory Prayer). I read a fatwa on praying an obligatory salahwith the intention of it being a naflPrayer that regards this practice as acceptable. Is this permissible for all the five daily prayers? For example, with regard to `AsrPrayer and MaghribPrayer, is it possible to pray in congregation again with someone who has not prayed even these two prayers? I know that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) did not encourage naflPrayers between `AsrPrayer and MaghribPrayer. Moreover, concerning MaghribPrayer, is it permissibleto pray three rak`ahsagain after the first MaghribPrayer? I read a fatwa regarding prayingbehind an imam who is praying with the intention of naflPrayer. Is it permissible for someone to lead an obligatory prayer such as `Isha’  Prayer or others with the intention of naflPrayer?JazakumAllahuKhayran.

assalamu-alikum, brother i like to ask you a question, I am travailing to Bangladesh and i like to know how can I pray on the plane 1. Do I need to know which way is qibla, if yes how can I know that as not all airlines show qibla 2. Can I do tayammum instead of wudhu as it is bit difficult to do on the plane, 3. can i sit down and pray on the plane or should i ask the airlines staff for space? If I do not ask and sit down and pray, is it going to accepted? 4.Can I pray dhure and asar at home before I go to air port? Salaamz,thank you very much for prviding this great services to muslims everywhere.   My question is: When I perform my prayers, I perform do not perform them hastely.  I try to recite the words carefully and pay attention to what I am saying. When I go to the masjid to pray Isha, the imam recites the 2 sunnah and 2 nafil (After Faraz) a lot faster than my pace of reciting the shortest surahs.  So I hasten to finish the 2 sunnah and 2 nafil so I can join the witr prayers. What is the best course of action so I can pray my namaz without hastening my prayers?Jazak Allah.Junaid
