Reading horror novels
Assalamoalikum, I have certain videos (movies)etc belonging to the video shop i saw them a long time back but it had some bad content on it i.e. not porn but u know the sort american films are I ALHAMDOLILLAH plan on not watching it again etc INSHALLAH but some of them are my friends' and some belong to the video shop.Is it permissible for me to return them to their rightful owners and also pay for them since i will be returning them back to the shop after having watched them. My second question is that does reading horror novels (evil spirits,talking dolls,centralized on black magic(not preaching it))etc where these things form the story line as a form of fiction allowed?or does it put a person out of islam?I used to read such books not anymore ALHAMDOLILLAH,but i want to throw them away but my parents have locked them away and my father has no plans on talking them out.So if they lie there and nobody reads them is it still a sin?
