Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Are we ever allowed to socialize with non-Muslims? How do we tell our non-Muslim friends that we cannot be their friends anymore, without hurting their feelings? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Respected scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. Why did Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) look for a wali or protector after returning from his Journey to Ta’if ? He got a wali after many mushriks (disbelievers) rejected to give him protection. In the Qur'an, Allah commands Muslims not to take a mushrik as wali. I would appreciate an elaborated answer giving details of what the word wali means in the Qur’anic language and what Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) actually asked from the mushriks. Dear scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. Is it permissible for a Muslim to send condolences to the family on the death of a Christian friend, colleague, or neighbor? If so, is there any authentic evidence from the life of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he did that? Jazaka Allahu khayran.

As-Salamu `alaykum. The dearest and closest Christian friend I have is a 90-year-old former Catholic priest who has been a joy and a loving supporter of me for several years. He's a beautiful man with a loving heart for all peoples and an enormous respect for Islam. He never fails to call me every day to check on me because of my disabilities. My question is: When his time comes to die, if he does before me, is it permissible for me to give a eulogy for him at a church or funeral home? Because his wife, 86, may indeed ask me and many know how close he and I are. Jazakum Allah Khayran

As-Salamu `alaykum. Can monetary contributions by non-Muslims be used on the construction of a Mosque? May Allah reward you for your good work.

As-Salamu `alaykum. I have a hadith which reads: "I was ordered to kill the people until they all say ‘There is no god but Allah and pay the Zakah.....’ I am not sure of the exact words but the hadith has the same meaning as above. Does this hadith mean that any non-Muslim should be killed?

AlSalaam Alikum When I married my wife she was Christian, now she does not believe in it and has spoken the shahadah in front of me but did not do ghusl and two rakats, she doesn't know how to pray.She has family back home in Lebanon who are Christian.  She sends them money they need very much every year.Because of her shahadah and she does believe in Islam now, can that money she sends her family be considered ZAKAT for her?
