Calling teddy bears after prophets’ names
I am seeking an explanation for the controversy in Sudan. I have read in some places that teddy bears or other dolls and stuffed animals are discouraged in Muslim homes. And I have read in other places that even the Prophet Muhammad's own children had dolls. I have also read that Muslim children often name toys and puppets after the prophets including Adam, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Is it written or stated somewhere that this is not permitted? Is it considered disrespectful? How should the British teacher in Sudan have handled this? What should the consequences be for handling it inappropriately?
