Having mascot resembling half-camel and half-deer
Dear Scholars:as-salamu alaykum! It is the common practice in our area to have mascot resembling half-camel and half-deer animal using pieces of wood as framework and covered by colorful clothes around its body, head and neck without legs and tail. Its eyes are made of circular mirror. In order to move and behave like animal, the person gets inside this mascot and operates it manually while indigenous instruments are being played. This mascot is used by local Muslims during wedding celebration. Sometimes, it is used when fetching person coming from haj. Is the use of mascot as aforementioned permissible in Islam?
