Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Can a Muslim be a judge in a secular country and judge according to secular law, which is contradictory with the Shari`ah law? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

If a non-Muslim government appoints a Muslim judge to decide matters relating to Muslims according to Islamic law, must Muslims obey him and submit to his or her verdicts?

Salaam. I have 2 hadith really bother me and need to be clarified. Any help would be awesome, thanks.1) Sunan Abu-Dawud, Book 38, Number 4435: Why does the Prophet (s.a.w.) use the law of the Torah to punish the Jewish pair if the Torah is believed to be corrupt?2) Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 59, Number 369:how can the Prophet (s.a.w) permit lying? Isn't lying a big sin? And isn't an assasination cowardly? What is the whole story?Thank you very much.
