halal

Dear Scholars:as-salamu ?alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh. What is the Islamic stance on genetically modified foods / organisms? Jazakum Allah khayran.

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. I would like to inquire the differences and similarities between kosher and halal products. Thus, are kosher products also halal? Moreover, many fruit yogurts contain gelatin derived from bovine. Is it permissible to eat them? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Assalamu alaikum.  My question is, is it permissible to sell something which may be used for both halal or haraam purposes. For example, i have an MP3 player that i want to sell.  The device can be used for haraam purposes, and it may be used for halal purposes such as listening to Quranic recitations, Islamic lectures, educational purposes, etc.  Would it be haraam to sell the device to a store not knowing who would end up buying it and how the purchaser would use the device?

Assalamou Alaikoum dear scholars. Thank you so much for the help you provide on this website. I am a new canadian convert to Islam. I want to invest a large amount of money from my savings. I already hold stocks and bonds from before I converted to Islam. These investments are from diverse grouped investment funds chosen by my financial councellar (because I do not know much about finance) and they regroup investments in many different companies and governments. I am not sure whether they constitute Haram investments. Before investing this additionnal large amount of money in these funds, I would like to know what is Haram and Halal investment, and how can I make sure that my investments are Halal, how can I find this information. I do not know much about finance unfortunately and being the only Muslim in my family and not knowing much Canadian muslims makes it very difficult for me to find information.

Respected scholars,as-salamu `alaykum. I am asking about the concept of halal meat in Islam. Does it only focus on the way of slaughtering or does it take into consideration other requirements, such as the way of nourishment? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Is it haram to work for a bank or deal with banks?

If a haram product touches a halal one such as meat, intentionally or unintentionally, will the halal product be deemed haram?
