As-Salamu `alaykum. We have heard about a Canadian Muslim group endorsing same-sex marriage legislation that calls for re-defining marriage to include same-sex partners. Officials of that organization declare that it is incumbent upon them, as a minority, to stand up in solidarity with other minorities—including Canada’s gays and lesbians. But many in the Muslim community believe religion does not condone homosexuality.What does Islam say about endorsing gay marriages? How should we Muslims deal with this issue?
