Du'a

assalamu alaikum dear scholar, i would like ask u my wife and there her family is coverted to islam,but her father got expired in the state of chishtian. so she can pray to ALLAH for her father's forgiveness

Is it right to use Waseela in a dua, e.g asking for forgiveness to Allah by Waseela of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) ?

As-salaamu Alaikum.My father committed suicide last month.  As you can imagine, it devastated our family.  I know that suicide is a serious sin in Islam, and I am worried he may be in the Hell-fire forever and/or suffer terrible punishment for making such a choice.  I would like to make du'a for hi m.  Is it halal for me to do so even though he was Christian and he died by suicide?  I'm still learning about du'a, so if I am permitted to do so, how should I make du'a for him?  Must it be said in Arabic?  Can I offer charity for him?  Thank you.

A friend of mine told me that I should not ask Allah to give me patience because that implies that I am asking Allah to give me trials. Is this true? If it is, then how do we explain Sûrah al-Baqarah: 250

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh. I know that belief in the Qadar (Divine predestination) is a prerequisite for sound faith. However, I'd like to know if there is any conflict between the Qadar and Du`a'? How can the Du`a' influence one's Qadar, which is already predetermined by Allah, Most High. Jazakum Allah Khairan.

My question is regarding Salah. Is it considered bid'ah after salah to raise one hands for supplication? Because I read in hadith that Rassouloullah used to supplicate when prostating. My second question is: If we ask Allah (swt) for worldly things, is it going agains Qadar ?

AssalamuAlaikum,though I never doubted the efficacy of Dua'a and make it often, lately I have been wondering about the link between Dua'a and our pre-destined lives. How can we completely reconcile the two concepts - does God alter what has already been written in our fate, if we make Dua'a? Isn't it true that what has already been destined, will occur no matter what? Could you shed some light on this for me? Thank you very much.

What about calling Allah by another name that's not amongst His attributes?

As-Salaam Alaikum,When making supplication, should I say it by mouth (lafaz) or it is enough if I only say it in my heart? And If I have many wishes, do I have to repeat each and every wish 3 times when I supplicate?Jazakallah Khairan.

Dear Scholars:as-salamu ?alaykum. In Islam, I believed it is commendable (Sunnah) to have an individual duaa (kifaratul majlis) at the end of gatherings. Here in the Philippines, we used to have trainings, seminars or gatherings as part of government offices activities wherein mixed Muslims and Christians are participants. Is it innovation (bida?a) to have a Muslim invocation (duaa) before starting seminars or gatherings taken from the Qur?aninc verses or hadith? Jazakum Allahu khairan.

I previously had very bad experiences with neighbors such as all night parties, fighting, very loud music, a drunk man following me and wanted to assault me, etc. I changed house four times with no improvements; it is even worse now. Assalamualikum, I like to ask a question wich is confusing me a lot.Are v allowed to make duas with the waseelah of Prophet Muhammed(PBUH).I heard that it is not permissible for muslims to take waselah of anyone including the Prophet.But one friend argues that when v can assk Prophets waselah in the dua after athan y cant v do in our daily duas.Please clarify it.Jazakallahu khair.
