Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmat-Allaahi wa barakaatuhu On March 18 various media sources reported that The Vatican and Saudi Arabia are in talks to open the first ever Church in the kingdom.  The Vatican statement was "If we manage to obtain authorization for the construction of the first church, it will be an outcome of histor ic dimensions," said Vatican Spokesman Father Federico Lombardi.  Please can you tell me the Islamic ruling on this IF (& its a big IF) Saudi Arabia allow the Church to be built in the kingdom. As a layman the famous hadith of Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) comes to mind Rasoolullah (may peace and blessings be upon him) has said; ?No two religions can co-exist  in Arabia.?the Holy Prophet?s (may peace and blessings be upon him)  last advice was: ?Expel the Jews and the Christians from the Arab lands.?.Please can you advise what Muslims should do if indeed a Church is built in Saudi Arabia?Wa'Salaam

Can Muslims enter other religious places such as temples or churches and follow their traditions out of respect, the same as we expect non Muslims to respect our way when they come in to a mosque?  I am a convert and my family does not know I am Muslim.  So to keep the peace and a good relationship with them, sometimes they like me to go.  Also my only brother will get married soon in a temple and I would like my husband and I to go.  We have to keep our heads covered, even the men as a form of respect and when you enter you go to the front and give a donation and touch your head to the ground.  We in our hearts know we are Muslim, we know that there is only one god with no association.  I am aware that prophet Mohammed use to visit other places of worship.  Please let me know.  Thank you.

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. We hear every now and then that some people have attacked churches or temples in different places, so we'd like to ask whether these acts are deemed right according to Shari`ah. JazakumAllahu khayran.

Is it permissible for Muslims to hold wedding ceremonies in Churches if they are going to marry Christian women?

Can one donate his land for building church or temple? He donates the land not because he approves what the non-muslims believe, but for religious system. What is Islamic ruling on this?

Are Muslims allowed to enter a Church? My mother recently remarried in a registry office and had a blessing in a Church. My husband is a Muslim and was not sure if he was allowed to go in. He ended up not going into the Church, as he feared some sort of recrimination, even though he was not asked to take part in prayer. I have researched this but to no avail and would like some clarification for us both. I really look forward to your reply.

As-salamu `alaykum. I am currently living in a non-Muslim country. I wonder whether it is allowed for a Muslim to perform prayer in a Church or not? I have heard that Muslims are not allowed to perform prayer in Churches and other people’s places of worship. To what extent such saying is true? Please furnish me with a comprehensive Fatwa in this regard.

Dear scholars, As-Salamu `alaykum. The Jumu`ah (Friday) Prayer at my university is held in a chapel. There is a cross hanging on the wall in the room where the Prayer is held. Is this permissible? And are Muslims allowed to pray in churches or chapels? Jazakum Allah khayran.
