As-Salamu `Alaykum. My sister insists on buying only free-ranged eggs because she thinks it's cruel to keep chickens cramped in batteries and that, Muslims should take a stand against the practice? Is battery farming wrong?

I am concerned about animal sacrafice. Do most anmials suffer during this time or is it a quick and painless action to aviod the innocent creature less pain?  I had heard that muslims take pride in the pain of others (animals), surely this must not be true. Please clarify.

Respected scholars, As-salamu `alaykum. If electrical current is applied to an animal for a few seconds to make it unconscious and then it is slaughtered in the Islamic way of halal slaughter, would it be considered halal? It is made scientifically sure that when the animal is slaughtered, it is alive and breathing. The current applied or electrical stunning only makes it immobile to save the struggle of both the animal and the slaughterer. According to the two main requirements of halal slaughter, the animal must be alive at the time of slaughter and maximum blood should be let out of the animal's body. If we meet these two requirements even after applying current, the meat should be halal. Do you agree? Jazakum Allahu khayran.

Dear Scholars:as-salamu ?alaykum! In our area, it is the practice of some veterinarian to castrate male carabaos. According to them, these animals have better work output compared to non-castrated ones because it lessened their sexual drive to absence of sexual desires towards opposite sex. Besides, the meat is claimed more palatable. Is castration of animal permissible in Islam? Jazakum Allah khayran

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatu i would like to ask if it is permissible to sell clothes that could have been made with dyes, and other chemcials, of animal origins.Please note that i am not aware if those clothes are made with dyes and chemicals of synthetic origin, or animal origin.Should i go through the process of finding about the origin of these dyes and chemicals, knowing that this could place some hardship on me, not really knowing the nature ofthese chemiclas in the first place?
