Soaps Containing Animal By-Products
Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. This is quite urgent, and I'm sure your answer to my question will be beneficial to the entire Muslim community.almost all soaps manufactured here contain an animal by-product (sodium tallow ate) in them. They also contain glycerin, which may come from plants or animals. Is it haram to use them? 100-percent vegetable-made soaps are also available in the market, but they are much more expensive. Same is the case with creams, lotions, and cosmetics. I heard someone quoting a sheikh who said it is OK to use them since the animal by-products completely lose their original state or composition in the entire process of manufacture. Can you please clarify this? Jazaka Allahu khayran.
