It is evident in numerous texts from the Qur’an and hadith that Islam commands kindness to all people, Muslims and non-Muslims provided those non-Muslims are not hostile to the Muslims or fighting them. When Asma’ bint Abi Bakr came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asking about her pagan mother who wanted to have good relations with her, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded her to keep good relations with her.
The Qur’an instructs Muslims saying: “Allah forbids you not those who warred not against you on account of religion and drove you not out from your homes, that you should show them kindness and deal justly with them. Lo ! Allah loves the just dealers.” (Al-Mumtahanah: 8)
Therefore, Muslims are allowed to help or support non-hostile non-Muslims of any faith either in cash or kind with no restriction.
