Dr. Monzer Kahf, a prominent economist and counselor states: “Mosques in the West usually consist of a prayer hall and some other facilities that are not normally used for prayers. Private sale for private profit is prohibited inside the prayer hall. Sale for the benefit of the community and the Mosque itself and conducting other activities such as fund raising are definitely permitted outside the prayer hall itself being the place for prayers.”
