It is a confirmed Sunnah for men to pronounce the Adhan and Iqamah for prayer whether one is praying alone or in a congregation.
Sheikh Abdul-`Aziz ibn Baz, the late Mufti of Saudi Arabia stated: It is correct to pronounce the Adhan and Iqamah when one does not have wudu’, but it is preferable for the muezzin and the one who gives the Iqamah to have wudu’. The prayer of the other people is valid even if the muezzin and the one who pronounces the Iqamah do not have wudu’ while giving them. But if the muezzin and the one who pronounces the Iqamah prays without wudu’, they have to repeat the Prayer, just like anyone else.
