Dr. Muzammil H. Siddiqi, President of the Fiqh Council ofNorth America, states: “It is not required to sleep before praying tahajjud prayer. If one is awake during the night they can pray tahajjud also. However, the beauty of this prayer is that one leaves one’s bed and stand up to worship Allah during the night while many others prefer to sleep at that time. Such people will receive special blessings of Allah Almighty.”
Is going to sleep before performing tahajjud required?
