Dr. Marawan Shahin, Professor of Hadith and its Sciences, Faculty of Usul Ad-Din (Theology),Al-Azhar Univ. states: “It is not permissible for couples to agree to not have intimate relationship. As long as they are husband and wife, the husband has all rights as a spouse. It should be also stressed that this issue is related to chastity and honour and preventing the husband from having intimate relationship with his wife may lead him to fall into the grave sin of zina. And thus, the husband will be committing a sin if he fell into Zina due to preventing him his right as a husband.
