Zeinab Al-`Alawani, Instructor of Fiqh and Islamic Studies, Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, states the following: “Marriage is based on consistency and ongoing relations. Therefore, mut`ah conflicts with the objectives of marriage in Islam. It was first permitted due to certain circumstances, but late the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explicitly explained that it has been prohibited. Imam Muslim reported this in his Sahih, mentioning that Al-Juhani was with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) at the conquest of Makkah and that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave some Muslims permission to contract temporary marriages. Al-Juhani said, “Before leaving Makkah the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prohibited it.” In another version of the hadith it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah has made it haram until the Day of Judgment.”“
Having mut`ah with another woman, permissible?
