The prominent Muslim scholar Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Nadvi, director and imam of Al-Falah Islamic Center, Oakville, Ontario, Canada , states that:
“Generally speaking, it is allowed to dye your hair any colour but black, according to the hadith of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. The market is full of colours these days, and you will be able to choose from a variety of colours. It may be advised, from a health perspective, to avoid using chemical and use natural products. In either way, dyeing your hair will not affect your wudu’, unless you use materials that will form an external barrier and prevents the water to penetrate your hair, in which case it will be required to remove it. But in normal circumstances, this is not the case with dyeing.”
