Do schizophrenic people hear Jinn?

The eminent Muslim scholar and renowned Da`iyah, Sheikh `Abdel Khaliq Hasan Ash-Shareef, states: “What we know from the sources of Islamic Shari`ah is that Jinn and devils are whispering to people. Whispering is a psychological state that cannot be heard. There is nothing in the sources of Shari`ah proving that normal or schizophrenic people can hear voices of jinn or devils. What came in Shari`ah is that the devils whisper to people and adorn evil to them.

Schizophrenia is a psychological disease that needs besides the medical care to resort to Allah, live with the Qur’an and stick to the right and truth.”

Given the above, it becomes clear that normal and schizophrenic people cannot hear the voices of Jinn or devils and there is nothing in the sources of Shari`ah stating or proving the opposite.
