Dr. Salah Sultan, President of the American Center for Islamic Research, Columbus, Ohio , and Member of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, states: The only cure or protection that is beneficial and could be done in this regard is surat Al-Fatihah, the last two chapters of the Qur’an, ayat Al-Kursi, and some authentic du`aa’ from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), like ‘Bismillahi arqik, min kulli shay’in yu’thik‘ (With Allah’s Name I seek protection for you from all that ails you), and ‘A’oodhu bi kalimaat-Illaah it-taamah min kulli shaytaanin wa haammah wa min kulli ‘aynin laammah (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil and vermin and from every envious eye).’
