The prominent Muslim scholar, Sheikh Muhammad Iqbal Nadvi, Director and Imam of Al-Falah Islamic Center, Oakville, Ontario, Canada , states: “This falls under the category of things on which there is no text prohibiting. It is a mere expression of joy over the drink. Of course, it is not a good expression, since it resembles the delight a drunk shows when intoxicated. However, it does not affect the permissibility of the drink if it is halal in the first place. So, I would say it should be avoided and it is discouraged to emulate an evil practice.”
