Dr. Rif`at Fawzi, former professor of Shari`ah at Cairo Univ., states: “It is absolutely permissible to ask Allah to grant us something in a certain specific time if we are in need for that. Answering this supplication is referred to Allah and it is known that it may take one of three forms. It may be answered immediately as we asked Allah, or that we may take a reward in compensation for it in the Hereafter or that Almighty Allah may avert you an affliction due to your supplication. So, there is nothing wrong to ask Allah to grant us something in a certain time.
