It is narrated in As-Seerah by Ibn Kathir that people entered the room to pray on the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) after they left him a while for the Angels to pray on him. Then, they performed the Prophet’s funeral prayer without having an imam. The first to pray for him were people of his clan. It is mentioned that they entered one by one.
