Zeinab Al-`Alawani, Instructor of Fiqh and Islamic Studies,Graduate School of Islamic and Social Sciences, states the following: “As far as I know, the only thing that can protect one from black magic (if it really exists) is the authentic ruqya taught by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Al-Fatiha, Al-Mu`awidhatain, Ayat Al-Kursi, Surat Al-Baqarah and authentic supplications of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). As muslims we’re advised to please read the Qur’an frequently and try to keep away from these myths about magic. Always enrich your Islamic knowledge, and always be conscious and mindful of Allah.”
