Is getting a job a necessity for wearing a wig
As you probably all know, although Turkey needs qualified Englishteachers, I cannot find work here in schools because I wear a headscarf.this is the same for state and private schools or universities. Now, I have finally found a private language school who would allow me to work with my headscarf. I would only be allowed to work in theevening when it is unlikely that inspectors would visit. That is OK with me. There is only one problem. They have to send a picture of meto the Education Ministry when they employ me. Of course, I would not be allowed to wear a headscarf on this picture. The director of the school told me that I could put on a wig for the photograph. Besides, making me feel degraded having to put on a wig, I have also heardthat this is not allowed in Islam. I am in a dilemma now. I don't know what to do. Is it preferable to wear a wig instead of showing my own hair on this picture (I would detest the director's seeing me without a headscarf) or is it preferable to find a female photographer (if possible) and have a photo taken where my own hair can be seen? Or should I not accept the job at all in order not to be compelled to do any of these? I need to decide within the next couple of days and let the director know whether I want to work there. Can you help me reach an Islamic decision?
