Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. Where I live, everyone, including religious people, plays music at weddings and this is customary. I do not listen to music because I heard it is haram, but would it be permissible to play music just at the wedding reception? I know my wife's family could not imagine having a wedding celebration without some music. Jazakum Allahu Khayran.

Respected scholars, as-salamu `alaykum. There is a woman who has a lot of gold jewelry that is suitable for wedding ceremonies. Is it permissi ble to make an endowment (waqf) of this gold to be used by her female kin or any other women? Will she have a reward for that? Jazakum Allahu k hayran.
