Sunnah Before and After Zuhr

ASSALAMOALLAIKUMtHERE WAS NO TIME FOR 4 RAKAH OF SUNNAH IN ZUHUR PRAYER AS JAMAT WAS IN PROGRESS. I WAS TOLD THAT AFTER THE FARDH ONE HAS TO OFFER ONLY 2 RAKAH. THE 4 RAKAH OF SUNNAH HAS TO BE OFFERED BEFORE JAMAT. IS IT CORRECT?
