Being Divorced Is Not a Stigma
After a woman has been married, she is expected to remain married until death; but this is not always the case and there is sometimes reason to get a divorce. However, it seems in Muslim society this woman is now considered to be the marked woman. The woman must carry the stigma of divorce. Is there anything in the Qur’an or Sunnah that encourages Muslims to shun or avoid a woman whom has been divorced? The prejudice towards a woman whom has been divorced does exist and I wou ld like to know if there is anything in the Qur’an or Sunnah that encourages this. Could you please let me know as soon as possible, I was not able to find anything on my own and I am researching this for a paper? Thank you.
