Do the Stars Have Influence on Man’s Life?
Dear scholars, As-Salaam `Alaykum. I want to know if it's permissible to check the stars for setting a wedding date. My wedding has been postponed twice and in both times my parents sought someone's help in determining the "right" date for the Nikah (wedding). I didn't approve of this but went along with it, since they had scared me with terrible stories about people getting married on the day when Scorpio enters...or something like that. Do you think that is why my wedding keeps getting postponed? I am very distressed with that and now I don't want my parents to ask anyone for the "right" date. I just want to believe in Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and get on with my life. What is the Islamic perspective on this practice? What should I do? PLEASE help me! Jazakum Allah khayran.
