Asalaam alikum.I am an Islamic revert working full time, and pay (willingly) for the upkeep of the house, all household expenses, and the education of our 2 dau ghters. My husband is using his income for investments in both our names. My husband has become extremely angry with me for purchasing a gift for myself from my earnings (a camera). He says I do not have the right to spend this money without his authority and insists that I return it to the store. I was of the impression that I could spend my earnings as I pleased without having to gain his approval. Have I misunderstood the woman's rights in marriage in this regard?

As-salamu `alaykum. Now that summer has started, many families in the Muslim countries plan to spend their vacations in non-Muslim countries, in Europe or in the United States for example. My question is, do you recommend this? And if so, are there any regulations or conditions they should fulfill?

I am a married woman and I agreed with my husband that he should give me a sum of money each month to provide for the household expenditures. However, from that money, I give alms for my neighbors who are in dire need So will I be rewarded for doing so? Or shall I take my husband’s permission before paying such alms?
