shisha

Dear Scholars, My question is regarding the issue of smoking shisha. My son believes it to be halal as he is under the impression that it is not harmful as smoking is. I have read quite a lot around the subject and I have found that there is a lot of confusion around this matter. I would like a clear cut fatwa regarding shisha, whether it is halal or haram (and on what basis?) and whether it falls under the fatwa on smoking cigarettes or tobacco? Secondary to this I would also like to know what is the huqm for someone who does not obay his parents who wish him to stop smoking shisha even if it was considered halal? And finally what is meant by makrooh?thank you for giving me the opportunity to ask you about this matter as it has caused many problems at home and I have no other way of finding out the true religious opinion regarding this new habit that is spreading and overwhelming our community.
