Selling sandwiches in the mosque precincts especially in the west
Sa lamu alykum,We live in a european town. Since about two years, we bought a house and make it a mosq. This building is not fully payed. we are paying the remaining amount to the owner each month. To help pay the mosq, some of our women are preparing food (Sandwitches) to be sold after the prayer of Friday to the muslims who come and pray Jumuaa and like to eat some thing before going back to work or studies. and each month we are collecting a good amount of money which really helps. Some of our brothers are against that and they said the trade (Al- Bey'a) at the mosq is Haram. Therefore we are asking about that. We would like to add that all the money goes to pay the credit of the mosq. The financial resources are very limited here. Usually, the food is sold outside the pray-room (at the entrance, outside). Could you please tell us whether what we are doing is Hallal or Haram.Baraka allahu feekum. Salamu alykum.
