Rulings of Iddah

Dear scholars! Please inform me of the regulations pertaining to a woman in her waiting period after the death of her husband! Can she apply cosmetics or Kohl? Can she go out of her house? Please enlighten me in this regard!

As-salamu `alaykum. A wife has embraced Islam and has received a divorce decree. How would she calculate her waiting period (`iddah)?

Respected scholars! Is a Christian woman who is married to a Muslim required to observe `Iddah after divorce or death of her Muslim husband?

Dear Sheikh! Could you enlighten me on the `Iddah of a woman divorced by Khul`? How long should she confine herself to observing `Iddah? Jazakum Allah Khairan.

My parents were planning to make Hajj this year, but then my father suddenly died. My mother is in her `iddah (waiting period), but she would like to make Hajj. She says that she made the niyyah (intention) and if she does not go to Hajj this year, she does not know what will happen to her next year.

Assalam. I have a question brother. Is there any time restriction for a woman to go outside after the death of her husband.If yes would you please explain and give the refenence.In case if the Lady is the only earning member what will be the verdict.
