As Salam U Alakum is smoking cigrettes haram or makrooh and if it is haram wouldnt selling it be haram as well.
Dear sirassalamu alaikum. My question is in regard to smoking. I have heard some scholars say that smoking is classified as something which allah dislikes,but is not haram(better avoided) and some others saying it is haram. I ask this because my family runs a well established Beedi company(Indian form of cigarette). We have been running for above 60 years and employ about 30000 people who directly depend on us for livelyhood. We are very islamic my uncle says that he will stop the business the moment anyone proves it is haram on the basis of the quran and the sunnah. Please give us your opinion on the issue.I would be pleased if u could produce the islamic proof(quran and hadith) for your opinion. jazakalla hayr.
We know your opinion concerning smoking and that you tend to deem smoking prohi bited, basing your opinion on the great harm it causes to one’s body, soul, and money. But I want to know your opinion concerning khat, which has been widespread here in Yemen for a long time now.
